Post event

A post even massage refers to a massage that is received after an activity has been undertaken

What is post event massage?

Massage in a post-event scenario refers to a type of therapeutic massage intended to aid in the recovery of individuals that have undergone rigorous exercise or unfamiliar exercise. It isn't just aimed at those that engage in sporting activity but also individuals that have undertaken any form of exercise and need a faster recovery in order to regain a sense of normality so functional activities can be maintained.

Post event therapeutic massage consists of stretching the tissues that have become stiff and tight as a result of the muscles working to a high capacity or working to a degree that is unfamiliar to the active muscles. A process called delayed on set muscle soreness (DOMS) can be felt after participating in any level of activity; this is due to the micro tears within the muscle fibres rather than a build-up of lactic acid which is widely believed.
